Pushy? No Not the teachers, can't be

On Feb 29 I had meetings with the specail ed board to talk about Curtis' progress or lack there of and to write up his IEP for the next school year. The teacher, speach therapist, occupational therapist, school phycologist, and his extra help reading teacher all told me "He can't focus. Let's do another ADHD questionaire so that can be taken to his doctor so he can be put on meds. After all he was on them last year and made great gains. Let's put him back on meds!" To make this a shorter post if you don't know how I feel about Curtis being put on meds again read this post here! I will even wait for you to go and read that in case you missed that post.
Oh ok your back now. 2 days after the meeting I got the persmission paper work so they can do the ADHD qukestionaire. His teacher did one and I did one. I did it to see where he is and to see if he is any worse than he was last year as I still have that paperwork. I returned the paperwork on March 11 cause I wanted to take my time with the questionaire. The same day I wrote this. Yesterday was report card day. And not only did I get report cards but I got the report back from the school on the ADHD questionaire that was done.
On the paper is a note: "Please take this to Curtis' doctor so he can figure out what meds will help Curtis focus better in school."
Word for word people.
This post here...the one I wrote last night? Was my reaction to this note.
I thought for sure that I was going to have more time to research. More time to come up with a game plan. Guess not. However I do the ball is in my hands and I am going to hold it and keep it warm. And even though I am holding the ball I expect my phone to ring sometime next week to find out if I had to the doctor yet. Oh wait scratch that. I bet his teacher asks about it tomarrow afternoon durning my parent teacher meeting.
For the love of what is left of my sanity if you know of anything that might help me find an alternative that I can research myself and take to the doctor....please feel free to let me know about it! I am open to anything at this point other than meds.

Hey girl, I just found this article on treating ADHD without meds:

http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60935.html

If the teachers are truly interested in helping Curtis or ANY child with ADHD I would think they would be willing to hear about this approach.

I don't have any suggestions. I'm sorry. I rely so heavily on my son's OT and speech therapist to help me figure this stuff out.
